Permacoll Gilding Size is a permanent contact adhesive made with an acrylic base, designed for interior applications only. It offers stronger adhesive properties than Instacoll Size, making it especially suitable for gilding with imitation gold, copper, and silver. This high-quality adhesive provides an exceptional shine for all types of metal leaf. Additionally, the red Permacoll can effectively imitate a poliment gilding effect.
Permacoll Size is recommended for use as an adhesive for metal leaf on all non-porous surfaces, whether they are smooth or textured. For porous surfaces such as plaster, stucco, wood, and wood composites, it is advisable to first seal them with Kolner Sealer 123A or Kolner Sealer P, thinned 1:0.5 with water. Once the sealant is dry, apply the unthinned Permacoll Size using a Kolner soft brush.
