When gilding outdoors, it is recommended to use transfer gold, also known as tempest gold. Gold leaf is pressed onto tissue paper for easier handling. The tissue paper is larger than the gold leaf, making it more straightforward to work with. You can cut the transfer leaf into your desired shapes using scissors. To apply the gold leaf, place it onto the prepared surface and gently rub it with cotton wool or Kölner tissue. Once the gold leaf adheres to the surface, you can carefully remove the tissue paper.
